Car Cooling System and Radiator Inspection in Dubai

Temperature rising in traffic, coolant disappearing or a leak returning after repair? Inspector checks the cooling system to help establish the cause before you pay for another radiator, pump or thermostat.

Cooling inspection prices

AED 200–500

Inspector’s published guide for diagnostic work. A cooling-system appointment is priced for the vehicle and tests needed; this is a reference range, not a fixed cooling package or repair total.

Read the inspection price guide

Tell us whether the car is overheating, losing coolant or being checked before purchase. We can then quote for the relevant checks and explain what the appointment should establish.

Initial cooling assessment
Visible leaks, accessible components and the temperature complaint. The quotation states the physical checks and compatible diagnostic data included.
Pressure and operating tests
Ask for pressure or cap testing, controlled warm-up and fan checks to be named in the quote. They are not automatically included in a basic visual inspection.
Further investigation or repair
Concealed leaks, component removal, internal-engine tests, replacement parts and repair labour need a separate estimate and your approval.

The written total confirms VAT, any mobile travel charge, included tests and findings format. Safe cooling time and difficult access can extend the appointment.

Find the cause before replacing parts

What we check

The radiator is one part of the cooling system. Checks follow the complaint, from accessible leak evidence to the tests agreed for your vehicle.

Radiator, hoses and coolant loss

We look for accessible damage, stains, wet joints, cracked tanks and signs of leakage around the radiator, hoses, reservoir and water-pump area. Residue can come from an old spill, so its location needs to be checked against current behaviour.

Pressure and cap condition

A suitable pressure test can help locate a leak that is difficult to see. Cap sealing and pressure control may also need checking. A cold test can miss a fault that appears only when hot or under load; a passing result needs that context.

Radiator airflow and cooling fans

Debris or damage can restrict airflow through the heat exchangers. Where supported, fan commands are compared with actual operation. Wiring, supply and control problems must be considered before blaming the fan motor.

Thermostat, pump and temperature

Warm-up behaviour, relevant scan readings and temperature measurements help assess circulation and temperature control. One hot hose or cool patch on a radiator is insufficient evidence for a replacement.

Coolant condition and recent work

The coolant level, visible contamination and service history can explain why further testing is needed. Coolant colour alone does not establish compatibility. Recent pump, thermostat or radiator work also raises questions about filling, trapped air and disturbed connections.

For background on these checks, see HELLA’s cooling-system diagnostic guidance. The test method and coolant specification must suit the exact vehicle.

Tell us when it happens

The pattern changes the checks

A useful description can prevent a repeat visit or an unsuitable first test. These patterns guide the inspection; none identifies a failed part on its own.

Hot in slow traffic

Note whether the temperature rises while stationary and whether using the air conditioning changes it. Fan operation and airflow deserve attention alongside coolant level and circulation.

Hot at speed or under load

Tell us about hills, sustained driving or towing. Thermostat operation, radiator performance and coolant circulation may need checking beyond a short idle test.

Repeated coolant top-ups

Record how much was added and how often. A leak may leave residue, collect behind a cover or appear only after a hot journey. No puddle does not rule out coolant loss.

The problem returned after repair

Bring the invoice and say what changed. Filling and bleeding, the replaced component and the original diagnosis all matter. Replacing another part without checking the recurrence can add cost.

A falling coolant level or repeated temperature warning deserves prompt attention. Continuing to overheat can cause further engine damage. Call before moving the car if you are unsure whether it should be driven.

A clear basis for the next decision

Understand what needs attention

The useful result is an explanation of what was found, how it was checked and what still needs investigation. Inspector separates a visible leak or measured fault from a possible cause.

  • Confirmed observations: the location of leakage, recorded temperatures, fan response or other relevant findings.
  • Limits of the visit: inaccessible components, tests not included and symptoms that did not occur during the appointment.
  • The next step: a repair quotation, a further test or a controlled recheck after work.

Unexplained coolant loss or severe previous overheating may call for additional engine-health checks. A cooling inspection alone cannot certify that the engine has escaped internal damage.

After a cooling repair

Ask the repairer to confirm the correct coolant, filling and bleeding procedure, leak checks and operation under the conditions that caused the complaint. A post-repair inspection can review agreed items; it does not replace the repairer’s warranty.

Al Quoz 4 or mobile by arrangement

Choose a suitable appointment

Send the make, model, year, symptoms and location. Say if the engine is currently hot or the car cannot be driven.

Workshop testing

An Al Quoz 4 appointment is useful when the job needs controlled cooling and warm-up, pressure equipment, lift access or more involved electrical checks. Ask whether a cold arrival or longer stay is needed for your complaint.

Checks where the car is parked

A suitable mobile visit may cover accessible visual checks and compatible scan information. Space, permission and the required equipment determine what can be completed. See the mobile inspection arrangements before choosing this option.

Checking a car before purchase

Tell us about the cooling concern when arranging a pre-purchase inspection. Dedicated overheating tests may need to be added to the broader vehicle inspection.

You can also request an appointment online. The team confirms the checks, price and time after reviewing your request.

Before your inspection

Cooling system questions

Practical answers about testing, coolant loss and what to expect from the appointment.

Does a cooling inspection include a coolant flush?

No. An inspection investigates condition or a complaint. Coolant replacement or flushing is separate work, selected according to the vehicle’s requirements and any contamination found. A flush will not repair a leaking part or an electrical fan fault.

Can you find a leak when there is no puddle?

Often there are other clues, such as dried residue, a pressure drop or coolant collecting behind a cover. Some leaks occur only when hot; others need investigation inside the engine or heater circuit. Tell us how quickly the level falls so the right tests can be quoted.

Does overheating mean I need a new radiator?

No. Low coolant, poor airflow, a thermostat or pump problem, trapped air and other faults can produce overheating. Inspection should establish why cooling performance has changed before a radiator replacement is recommended.

How long will the inspection take?

The time depends on access, engine temperature and whether the fault can be reproduced safely. A hot car may need to cool before pressure testing. An intermittent complaint can require a longer stay or a second test; the expected appointment window is confirmed for your vehicle.

Can you inspect hybrid or electric cooling systems?

Send the exact model and warning first. Battery, inverter and engine cooling can use different circuits, equipment and procedures. The team must confirm suitable coverage before booking; a normal engine-cooling inspection does not include high-voltage battery testing.

What should I bring from an earlier repair?

Bring the invoice, parts details and any test results. A photo of the warning and a note of when the temperature rises are also useful. Tell us what coolant was added if you know, without opening the system while it is hot.
