A warning stays on
Record the exact message and whether the light is steady or flashing. Codes can narrow the investigation; a light alone cannot identify the failed part.
Warning lights. Running faults. Clear next steps.
A warning light, rough idle or recurring fault needs an explanation before you spend on repairs. Inspector.ae reads supported vehicle systems, reviews the relevant data and helps identify the next test needed to establish the cause.

AED 200–500
Inspector’s published inspection price guide gives this range for diagnostic requests. Use it to plan your budget; the written quote confirms the checks for your vehicle, VAT treatment and total payable.
Call for your diagnostic quoteDiscuss the symptom, read the supported modules and review relevant fault information. Agree live-data checks and the findings you will receive when booking.
Wiring tests, pressure or smoke tests, dismantling and extended investigation can require additional time or workshop equipment.
Parts, repairs, ECU programming, coding and calibration are separate from the initial assessment. Ask for the relevant quotation before proceeding.
Mobile travel, access requirements and any follow-up visit must be included in the agreed total. Sending the make, model, year and symptom is enough to start your enquiry.

From the warning to the next test
A useful scan connects the electronic record with what you have noticed. The agreed assessment can include:
Supported powertrain records can help investigate a check-engine light, rough running, reduced power or a shift complaint. Persistent gearbox symptoms may need transmission diagnostics.
ABS, airbag, steering and suspension records may be accessible with compatible diagnostic equipment. Physical inspection remains necessary when braking, steering or restraint condition is in question.
Supported body, comfort and communication modules can help explain several warnings appearing together. Battery drain, supply and wiring problems may need dedicated electrical fault finding.
Coverage depends on the exact model, year, specification and security access. Share those details first, particularly for an imported, modified, hybrid or electric vehicle.
Recognise the problem
You can contact Inspector with a symptom or a dashboard photo. You do not need to know which component has failed.
Record the exact message and whether the light is steady or flashing. Codes can narrow the investigation; a light alone cannot identify the failed part.
Rough idle, hesitation, reduced power or irregular shifting can call for live-data checks alongside physical inspection. Mention whether it happens cold, hot or under load.
If a warning returned after clearing codes or replacing a part, bring the previous scan and repair invoice. This helps avoid repeating an investigation without the earlier evidence.
A no-start or intermittent starting fault may involve battery supply, control signals or a mechanical problem. Tell us whether the engine turns over and where the car is parked.
Make the result useful
A diagnostic trouble code identifies a condition detected by a control unit. Establishing the cause can require a separate circuit, pressure or mechanical test. That distinction matters when deciding whether to replace a sensor or another component.
Ask for the report format and explanation to be included in your quote. The EPA’s OBD guidance explains how onboard monitoring records faults and why warning lights need attention.

Al Quoz 4 and arranged Dubai visits
The location should support the checks your fault needs. Describe the problem first so the appointment can be arranged in a suitable setting.
Workshop access may be the better choice when the investigation needs lifting, deeper circuit checks, controlled testing or additional equipment. Confirm the meeting point, vehicle compatibility and planned work before setting out.
Tell us if the car is in limp mode, will not start or should be recovered. Do not drive it solely to make a diagnostic appointment.
An initial scan and supported checks may be possible at a safe, accessible Dubai location. Mobile availability, travel terms, site permission and the work possible there are confirmed when booking.
A mobile visit cannot provide every workshop test. See the mobile inspection requirements if the car is with a seller or at another private site.
Start with the make, model, year, warning or symptom, and location. A dashboard photo or previous scan is helpful if you already have one. Inspector confirms the price, access requirements and appointment details after reviewing the request.
Before your appointment
Reading codes and investigating a fault take different amounts of time. An intermittent problem, no-start or communication failure may need further tests or another visit. Send the vehicle and symptom when enquiring so Inspector can explain the planned appointment and any likely follow-up.
Keep the original records where possible. Clearing codes or disconnecting the battery can remove useful fault information and reset emissions-monitor readiness. Take a dashboard photo when safely parked and bring any previous scan. Follow a required safety procedure if the vehicle needs to be isolated.
It may find stored or pending records, or relevant live-data changes while the symptom occurs. Some mechanical faults produce no code, and an intermittent fault may not appear during the appointment. A clear scan alone does not establish the condition of the engine, gearbox or whole vehicle.
Diagnostics investigates why the light is on. A repair, adjustment or further test may then be needed. Simply clearing the warning does not resolve its cause. After any repair, the relevant operation and fault records should be checked again.
Incomplete emissions monitors or other available records may suggest a recent reset, but they cannot prove who cleared a fault or reconstruct a complete history. Battery work can also affect readiness. Interpret these records with the vehicle’s condition and service history.
A computer scan is one part of assessing a used car. It does not replace checks of the body, visible accident repairs, mechanical condition, tyres or road behaviour. Choose a pre-purchase car inspection when you need a broader buying assessment.
